One of the cheapest best monitors out there is MSI’s Optix MAG274QRF-QD

MSI’s Optix MAG274QRF-QD is a 27-inch 1440p monitor that is available for just $399. It has a wide color gamut, imposingly low input lag, and excellent motion performance. Even though it’s neither the brightest nor the highest contrast monitor on the market, it’s an excellent value for the price. If you’re looking for a high-quality gaming monitor on a budget, the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD is a great option. It meets a low budget, for a significantly big screen, and is a high-resolution monitor

As you take a look at the back of the display, you’ll notice all of the ports towards the left side. The power adapter connector is one of these ports. The monitor has one USB Type-C input, two HDMI inputs, a DisplayPort socket, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also includes an upstream USB connector (Type-B), as well as two USB Type-A downstream connections. There’s also a power button at the bottom edge of the screen, alongside a red joystick that works as an on-screen display (OSD) controller.

The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD is a Quad-HD (2,560-by-1,440-pixel) monitor and has Rapid in-plane switching technology and a 165Hz refresh rate. These are great specs for a gaming monitor. It’s powered by Nvidia’s G-Sync adaptive technology and is also HDR10-compatible, so you’ll get the best possible picture quality. We use a Klein K-80 colorimeter, a Datacolor SpyderX Elite colorimeter, a Murideo SIXx-G signal generator, and Portrait Displays’ Calman software to check gaming monitor brightness and color gamut.

The ASUS 27″ MAG274QRF-QD is a wonderful monitor. At a contrast ratio of 997:1, it produces a maximum luminance of 206.394 candelas per square meter (nits) and a black-level (BL) of 0.207nits. When connected to a PQ10 input, the max luminance increases to 346.474nits, while the BL decreases to 0.348 brightness, for exactly the same CR of 997:1.

The MAG274QRF-QD has a quantum dot color technology that produces a vibrant, accurate display. It offers a superb color gamut out of the box, which is considerably greater than that of sRGB, as seen in the graph below, in both User and Game modes.

The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD is a wonderful monitor for the working gamer who spends a sizeable amount of time creating content and still wants a fast gaming experience at $400.
